What We Believe

What We Believe

The Park Fellowship Statement of Faith

We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, inerrant and infallible in the original manuscripts. This Word is the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

We believe in one God, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. He is eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer and saves from sin and death all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son. He was conceived in the flesh by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, true God and true man. He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe in His sinless life, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven and His coming personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, that person of the triune God who convicts men of sin, causes spiritual birth, indwells, seals, sanctifies, guides, equips, teaches and fills the believer, enabling him/her to walk in obedience to God and His Word.

We believe that all human beings are created by God in His own image rather than a random result of evolution. All people are sinners by both nature and choice, and face eternal separation from God. Eternal salvation from sin, death and hell is the free gift of God's grace, and is based solely upon one's personal faith in Jesus Christ. This salvation is not received by, nor based on any sacrament, merit or good work on our part. One who receives Christ's salvation is eternally secure.

We believe in the universal Church, the living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. The members of this spiritual body are directed to associate themselves together in local churches.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: baptism and the Lord's supper. These two ordinances are to be observed until the return of the Lord Jesus.

We welcome all to join us in worship!
